Co-Teachers in Khan Academy

We have gotten some questions about shared classes in Khan Academy, and I agree that it would be so helpful to be able to have your partner teacher see student progress in Khan! But they only allow one teacher per class.

What? Yes, I put in a feature request for multiple teachers on a class, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Here are some options from Roy, the Khan Academy hero who did the training sessions before school

"For co-teachers, we'd recommend one of two strategies, since Khan Academy can only assign one teacher per class.

Option 1

The co-teacher (i.e. the teacher who's not listed first as the teacher of record) can manually create a new class and then add the students into that new class, similar to how teachers created and rostered classes before we had the district synced classes

Option 2

The teacher of record can go into their Khan Academy settings, and change their password to one that they feel comfortable sharing with the co-teacher. Then, when the co-teacher logs into Khan Academy, they would go in through our site khanacademy.org, instead of going through Clever. On our site, they would enter the teacher of record's email and the password that was shared with them. We don't recommend this approach for too many co-teachers, as the sharing of passwords can get messy. However, if it's only a handful of teachers, and assuming the teacher of record is comfortable creating a new password on Khan Academy that they can share with the co-teacher, then this is another option that they can pursue. "

If just having one teacher on the class is really not an option, see if one of these options is something you want to do.  But whatever you do, YOU ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY SHOULD NOT EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE SHARE YOUR ACTUAL PASSWORD!!!  Like, ever.  Even if you really like and trust the person.  And if someone says "oh, I'll just give you my password", walk away.  Don't take it. And if you think someone may have your password, you need to go to the school or district website and reset it.
